About the Illinois Veterinary Medical Foundation
The owner of Harvard Equine Practice in Harvard, Illinois, accomplished equine veterinarian Dr. Phillip Kapraun focuses on treating Standardbreds and Quarter Horses with lameness. When he isn’t busy dispatching his professional obligations, Dr. Phillip Kapraun networks with his peers through membership in the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA).
One of the most important components of the ISVMA is its charitable arm, known as the Illinois Veterinary Medical Foundation (IVMF), which works to provide a number of services aimed to help promote veterinary medicine and grow the profession in the state. One of the most tangible ways the foundation helps is through scholarship programs that see students in each of the four ISVMA classes receive $4,000 throughout their veterinary school career to help defray costs.
The foundation also provides $1,500 per year (and will do so for at least the next four years) to help fund the ISVMA Pet Clinic Exhibit at the Kidzeum of Health and Science in Springfield, Illinois. To learn more about the foundation or to donate, visit www.isvma.org.
